Century 32, Quatrain XII. The Spanish Brothers

Recently, here at the Notradamus Institute, we have certified with 98% certainty that the following quatrain refers to the 2011 NBA playoffs.

In the city of St Anthony, the Spanish brothers shall be reversed
As the lake burns of rectitude, and the end of all looms, satisfaction shall be demanded of the Normans.

Writing from his 16th century perch, Notradamus appears to have predicted the stunning upset of the San Antonio Spurs by the Memphis Grizzlies.

The "Spanish brothers" he refers to are obviously Marc and Pau Gasol. As Marc's Grizzlies moved on in the playoffs, Pau's Lakers were eliminated in the first round. This elevated Marc above Pau, where he had previously lived in Pau's shadow.

The "burning lake" may refer to the biblical lake of fire, but more more likely is a reference to the anger of Laker fans after the Lakers were swept in the first round by the Dallas Mavericks. "As the end of all looms", the NBA lockout threatens to erase the coming NBA season.

The line about the Normans is obviously a nod to the Spurs' Tony Parker, who is French.

These predictions were made from a time before basketball existed, and certainly long before the Memphis Grizzlies who did not join the NBA until 1995, and even then were in Vancouver.
